Much of my childhood is a blur; but as you know, I was seven when mum and dad got divorced. When mum, CJ, and I were on our own and I had occasional visits with dad, you’d sometimes come into the conversation.
Dad couldn’t take care of you all by himself, so he brought you to the animal shelter to try to find a new loving family for you to spend the rest of your days with.

The sound of footsteps and chatter coming from the top of the staircase is apparent. The first image that appears when firm-footing returns gives reason to all the excitement. A bright blue chest sits sliced in half diagonally. Remnants of earthy and contrastingly bright colored clothing seep out of the broken drawers, acting as the guts of the once beautiful dresser. This introductory piece, created by artist Liz Shepard, acts as the foundation of what can be seen at the Interior Effects exhibit curated by Lisa Crossman.

LGBT+ movies are often downers - by the end of the film, someone dies, either because of AIDS, murder or suicide. Things are looking up with the release of cheerful teen romcoms like indie film GBF (2014) and Fox’s Love, Simon (2018). Netflix, in its endless quest to dominate in the war between streaming services, released Alex Strangelove (2018) in April, only a month after Love, Simon. Alex Strangelove is a coming-of-age story about a teenager with a Five Year Plan who finds himself stumbling into adulthood rather than triumphantly strolling into it.

Adobe Illustrator is typically used in logo creation, but the benefits of doing things in vector graphics and not raster graphics extends beyond logos. “I never liked boats. You’ve had to hogtie me before you could get me to go below decks. I flew propeller craft commercially before I ever worked anywhere else. I miss seeing the world become so small beneath my wings.”

Within Fitchburg, especially near the campus, there is one place that has been there for students when it comes to their late-night food needs. Superfans, which is located across the University, looks like just a hole in the wall, for about five years now. But looks can always be deceiving. The employees work until the early morning hours.
